Pro Bono Law Ontario & Law Help Ontario Web Site Redesign Project

For this project, Pro Bono Law Ontario (PBLO) wanted to redesign its two existing websites and move from a licensed product that they had been using for many years, to a hosted WordPress site. This change would bring about a number of positive results including reduced annual licensing/hosting costs, mobile-responsive design, updated look and feel, and a site that was much easier for staff to maintain.  I was hired to manage the project for PBLO which included the following roles: research web design companies and gather quotations for work, identify and contract with selected company (we chose Cutting Edge Concepts in Vancouver), work with staff to develop site maps and wireframes, select logos and image files, liaise between staff and designers to develop final concepts, assist staff in drafting content, upload content to new site, transfer resources from old site to new site, manage soft & final launch processes.

Christian Children’s Fund of Canada Data Asset Management Project

I was hired to manage a number of projects for CCFC as an Interim Communications Director, one of which was to implement a recently purchased Data Asset Management system. As an international aid organization, CCFC had amassed thousands of digital assets–primarily photographs–which were stored in multiple places throughout their internal servers. My role involved learning the system (built using open source software called Resource Space), creating the metadata framework, developing written protocols for use and submission guidelines, hiring and working with a photo librarian to cull and upload thousands of photos and other digital assets, and creating training materials including screencasting three video trainings for staff.
